Summit is providing Thanksgiving for our local SMART program students!
SMART is an educational voluntary program of the FNSBSD, providing quality education for secondary students who have been issued a long-term suspension or expulsion. Many of these students face food insecurity and will not have the opportunity to participate in a Thanksgiving meal at home, so we're providing Thanksgiving at school!
In addition to serving a full Thanksgiving meal during students' lunch the week of Thanksgiving, Summit also provides take-home boxes of Thanksgiving foods for students to share with family members, as well as a take home bag for each student filled with necessities like socks and hand warmers, as well as $10 gift cards to local eateries that can be used for food over the long holiday and beyond.
Non-perishable items may be brought to Summit on Sunday, Nov 9, Nov 16, and Nov 23, while perishable items should be delivered ready to serve to Summit on Monday, Nov 24, 10am-3pm, or Tuesday, Nov 25, between 8am-10am.
Thank you for making Thanksgiving possible for our local SMART students; together, we can ensure that every student eats.
